Collaboration Between Edinburgh Palette and Ragged University by Karl Graham

Since the beginning, Edinburgh Palette has offered space and support for a diverse cross-section of artists, designers and charities, and an equally varied range of projects. We were therefore delighted when The Ragged University selected us as the venue for the Mad World exhibition. The University has a long-standing tradition of openness and inclusion, which has parallels with the core values of Edinburgh Palette.

Edinburgh Palette

Mad World offers the contributors, our tenants and all visitors privileged access to an inclusive forum exploring mental health. It features years’ worth of publications on the subject, conceptual sculptures by local collective Place + Platform and a video installation and paintings by our resident artist Jamie King.

Housing this exhibition has also been a way of repaying Alex Dunedin, its organiser and our former tenant, for his years of vocal support of our project. Many powerful stories and ideas have already been uncovered in this interdisciplinary exhibition. We have no doubt that that the deep and diverse collection of artworks on show will inspire and incite more discussions during its time in St Margaret’s House.
