DADA and the drum kit

• Acknowledging a new and free approach to learning an instrument. This will be a drum clinic of sorts: half philosophical and half informative using a drum kit and PowerPoint slides.

A few paragraphs on your subject:

A DADA approach to any artistic concept or cultural idea is to be free from the constraints of conformity and be daring to explore that which is random by nature for the benefit of creativity. I believe that it is through this exploration of the abstract that – in the context of music – we can develop new ideas, and so I intend to present, play and philosophize using my formula for learning and playing the drum kit. I do hope that this discussion can inspire those with mental blocks that obstruct the pathway to novel thought.
 

A few paragraphs about you:

Holding a BA (Hons) degree in Sociology & English language and graduating in 2018 at UCBC through Lancaster, I am an active musician often lost in thought and curious to explore how we can use the digital space (social media) for the benefit of musicianship. This would be an awesome opportunity to hopefully meet budding musicians and likeminded thinkers
 

What free internet knowledge resources would you recommend to others if they wish to explore your chosen theme further?

– YOUTUBE! Simply find the subject you’re interested in and spiral down the knowledge tree. Most of my discussion involves audio and visual aid, so I unfortunately do not have literature.
