I am the author, with Adrian Wilding, of Revolutionary Recognition (London: Bloomsbury Academic 2021). The book has recently appeared in paperback. I was involved in editing the small journal Common Sense.
In the 1990s, I edited and contributed to volumes entitled on Open Marxism published by Pluto Press of London. A further volume on Open Marxism (edited by Ana Dinerstein and others) was published by Pluto Press in2020. I was the author (with a Foreword by John Holloway) of a volume entitled Lo que usted siempre Hegel y no se atrevio a preguntar was published by Herramienta of Buenos Aires in 2015.
I lectured on political theory at the University of Edinburgh until I retired in 2011. My research interests were the writings of G.W.F. Hegel, especially his Phenomenology of Spirit and, in addition, Scottish political and philosophical thought.
This note confirms that I have given presentations in the Ragged University, Edinburgh, and have had extensive discussions with Alex Dunedin. It is with his knowledge and encouragement that I offer administrative help (etc.) to the Ragged University, which I enthusiastically support.
